Winter Light Song

Welcomed by glowing west facing curtains,
One hundred year old windows rattle and the silk lifts.
"Stay" I hear.

Cradled by the give of a secondhand futon,
I watch the maple's light and dark flicker behind painted trees.
"Oneness" I hear.

Warmed by my respite in winter light,
To the song of knowing wood, knocking within generations of paint.
"Almost" I hear.

Winter Sun

Stopped by a shadow.
What is across the threshold
Is often the same.

Check out Molly Parr's interview with me. She asked great questions about my show at Trident Booksellers & Cafe, my art practice, and my travel for her weekly Four Questions Blog.

Created as part of a new body of work using the combination of photography and found objects that tell a story of the things we use and what we leave behind.
